Number two on the list is another small, good value paperback. Price has to be an issue with these books as nobody’s got hundreds of dollars to spend on expensive literary tomes. This is a negotiation book that you’d want to read for fun. In fact you may wish to buy the DVD which is good entertainment. Herb Cohen has the right sort of accent…he sounds like a negotiator and his experience and “war stories” are liberally sprinkled throughout the book and make good anecdotes in their own right. He provides good theory and doesn’t make it sound like it’s just theory…he tells you how you can use it and in many cases how he’s used it. If you’re looking for a book that’s a real “how to” manual and full of tactics and ideas that you can use straightaway both at home in business then this is a book for you. If you don’t like buying business theory books then you’ll enjoy reading it just for the stories.
